I had a great blessing yesterday! Friends who knew I was gardening brought me some gardening stuff. It was very sweet of them and I appreciate it so very much. They brought me some mature plants and some soil. Here is a list of what they brought me.
1. Sweet Mint plant
2. Blackberry plant
3. Seedless Grapes (Green) plant
4. Muscadine plant
5. Grapes (purple) plant
6. Cantaloupe plant
8. Onions plants
9. (2) tomato cages
10. (2) bags of soil
11. They gave me a bucket of the plant food they use.
12. (1) pallet
13. Gardening Gloves
I knew they were going to bring me a pallet and a blackberry plant but the other stuff was a surprise and I was so very grateful. They doubled my plants and I almost cried. Heather and her husband, Casey (I know we have the same name! lol) even brought a little fence they put up in my back yard for my dogs. They brought this little lawn mower that doesn't use gas and mowed my lawn. I had a great lawnmower that was practically brand new but someone stole it out of my garage about aw eek ago.

Today, I started planting. It got cloudy and a bit windy so I had to cut it short but I hope I can go back out and find a place for all the vines. I did get the potatoes planted from kitchen potatoes I had that had eyed. I also planted the mint. I was actually going to plant this in the ground but a friend of mine told me that it is very aggressive so I used a bucket turned planter for this.
And I put the bell peppers in a giant pink tote I had purchased from Target a few years ago. I poked holes in the bottom of it.
Bell Peppers:
My friend told me I don't need to brace them until they start to bear fruit.
Potatoes:
So I wanted to use this method:
I didn't have a "potato bag" but I used a recyclable bag I received in the mail. :)
I have more potatoes to plant but they didn't look as good as these. I think I'm going to put these in the back yard inside of a bale of hay. So I'm going to try two methods with these.
So hopefully I get some potatoes out of this. :)
Sweet Mint:
This was a popcorn bucket I found in a closet. I found several of them. I think I bought them several years ago for party, I tried to poke holes in it but all it did was crack the bottom all the way across. I had a couple of weed lines that I bought so I cut a piece off and lined the bottom. It will drain but the soil or plant shouldn't fall out.
Here are the vines and other plants that Heather and Casey brought me:
I know you can't really see the muscadine plant behind the grape vine, but it's there.
And the onions:
Whew. It's been a very active few days. I'm hoping I can get the vines in the ground today but I'm not sure how or where to plant them. I'll have to do some research.
I also went ahead and planted two of my little impatiens in little plants to put beside the door. Here is one of them:
